First, read to your child from the traditional, paper books, then log on to the interactive computer versions and watch the stories come alive!

The interactive computer versions of the books have four fun-filled sections: Read it to Me, Help Me to Read It, I Can Read It, and The Wall of Words. These are great options for interactive learning between your child and the parent who is away from home.

Next, there are several reading games directly connected with the words in each Interactive Book.

The Matching Game presents a set of objects and words from the Interactive Book to encourage the child to associate the word with the object and vice versa. The words are spoken as the child makes choices against a presented word or object, and the game advances as correct matches are performed. The Memory Game presents a set of objects in an array of pairs, with the objects hidden. The child clicks to uncover the object pairs, and, when a pair is uncovered, the object's word is spoken. Click To Play the Memory Game associated with the "Big Fun" Interactive Book.

The Three-Period Lesson Game again presents the objects and words from the Interactive Book, but in a Naming-Showing-Recalling model. First, the object is presented along with its spoken and written word. In the second step, the objects are presented as an array of objects and the child is asked to click on the object that matches a given written and spoken word. Finally, the child is given the object and an array of words to chose from to complete a written and spoken sentence. The Reading Game

The Reading Game is for older children, five years and above. This volume teaches a child just over 50 words and some sight words. This is an ideal game to be played with the away parent, as parent and child proceed through one lesson at a time. The child should find this enjoyable. The game is built so the child will get the correct answer 95% of the time, and this success with bolster his or her confidence and pride.

The Reading Card Games teach the words of the world to the child, in several different selectable languages. The first edition includes groups of words for Colors, Shapes, Numbers, Animals, Fruits, and Musical Instruments.

The child and the away parent will have fun here learning new words and hearing the sounds of musical instruments, animals, transportation etc. They can even learn the words from a new language together!
